About The Position

Gain practical experience in performing arts event services by learning how events are planned, coordinated, and supported from initial client inquiry through event-day execution. The intern will develop skills in venue management, event staffing, contracts, administrative support, attendance reporting, customer service, and front-of-house operations while working collaboratively with Event Services staff.

Requirements

  • Ability to maintain a physical presence at designated work locations, maintaining regular attendance, punctuality and working a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, holidays, and events may be required.
  • Able to communicate effectively in English, both in writing and verbally.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Good interpersonal skills including excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent time and task management skills.
  • Pursuing a degree in Arts Administration, Event Management, Business or related field.
  • College Senior or recent graduate (within 1 year)

Responsibilities

  • Learn to prepare, submit, and track event-related work orders, including HVAC and custodial requests, while understanding how building services support event readiness and guest comfort.
  • Assist with event staffing needs, including police detail requests, and learn how staffing levels and public-safety support are coordinated based on event requirements.
  • Answer incoming calls professionally, gather key information from potential clients, document inquiries accurately, and provide organized details to the Event Manager for follow-up.
  • Assist with maintaining and reporting show-related attendance data and other event information to support accurate departmental records and post-event reporting.
  • Provide hands-on support during events, including front-of-house operations, catering coordination, client communication, and other operational needs that contribute to a smooth event experience.
  • Build customer service, teamwork, accountability, and problem-solving skills through interaction with clients, guests, staff, vendors, and venue partners before, during, and after events.
  • Learn the process for preparing and executing rental contracts and building ticketing riders to place shows on sale. Gain an understanding of how event, client, venue, and ticketing information is gathered, documented, and communicated to ensure accurate execution.
