Intern - Horizon Air Financial Planning & Analysis (Summer 2027)
About The Position
The Horizon Air Financial Planning & Analysis internship is a full-time, 12-week summer 2027 program based in SeaTac, Washington. Interns contribute to visible projects supporting the company’s business, community, and cultural growth in a collaborative, innovative environment. Candidates who are not already in the internship city must relocate for the duration of the internship. The internship is intended to provide skill development and work experience and does not guarantee future employment. Interns may participate in events and programming with employees and company leaders and receive standby travel benefits.
Requirements
- Be working toward a bachelor's degree focused on finance, accounting, economics, or a related field.
- Be currently enrolled in an undergraduate program and have at least one semester or quarter remaining after the internship.
- Have junior or higher academic standing at the time of application.
- Have familiarity with accounting and finance fundamentals and intermediate math skills.
- Be proficient with Microsoft Excel and databases generally, including a variety of Excel math functions and pivot tables.
- Have strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to explain complex concepts to division leadership.
- Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Be at least 18 years old.
- Be authorized to work in the United States.
Responsibilities
- Provide input into forecasting, cost control, budget preparation, variance research, business case preparation, and other ad hoc projects and analysis.
- Shadow operations, analyze financial data, make recommendations on business problems, and contribute to solutions.
- Work with senior leadership to manage their finances and understand spending.
- Contribute to the monthly closing process, including accruals, purchase order system management, invoice review and research, and data entry into support databases and models.
- Design or create a dashboard using operational data and assist with other ad hoc projects and analysis.
