About The Position

The Cross Family of Agencies is seeking talented and dedicated interns to learn about the insurance industry. This growth position involves assisting with the day-to-day technical and clerical needs of our Commercial and Personal Lines divisions. The primary responsibility is to support account managers with daily, weekly, and monthly activities to understand current workflows and procedures within Cross Insurance. Interns will also participate in sales and carrier meetings, and may have opportunities to shadow benefits and bonds. Additionally, interns will assist with administrative projects as needed.

Requirements

  • Assist with the day-to-day technical and clerical needs of our Commercial and Personal Lines divisions.
  • Assist account managers with daily/weekly/monthly activities to learn the current workflow and procedures within Cross Insurance.
  • Participate in sales and carrier meetings.
  • Assist with administrative projects as needed.
  • Understand daily business operations and exposures of our prospects and customers.
  • Follow all procedures of both Cross Procedure Manual and CL/PL Workflow Manual.
  • Assist with preparation of new business submissions.
  • Quote and propose new business/additional coverages.
  • Follow-up with underwriters for the timely receipt of quotes.
  • Respond to requests from underwriters.
  • Produce binders for New & Renewal Accounts.
  • Meet with AE/Producer monthly to review marketing instructions.
  • Prepare Annual Review Kits and New and Renewal proposals.
  • Collect and assist with applications and underwriting information from Account Executive (AE) and/or client as necessary to market new and renewal policies.
  • Learn about coverages included in the CL Checklist and their importance.
  • Issue COIs & EPIs when new accounts are written/and updates on renewals.
  • Create new policy issuance instructions, quote instructions and renewal instructions for insurance company.
  • Provide Processor with instructions for processing new and renewal policies.
  • Answer questions posed by Processors.
  • Facilitate audit disputes.

Benefits

  • Compensation: The base salary range for this role is $20.00–$22.00 hourly.
