About The Position

Easterseals PORT Health is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Intern to join its team in Wilmington, North Carolina. The Intern will complete clinical rotations, a practicum, or an internship as part of the treatment team. The position includes maintaining clinical documentation in accordance with program and Medicaid standards for service provision, assessments, and progress reports. The internship provides a supportive setting focused on student growth and learning as well as patient healing.

This unpaid internship is designed to be educational and practical. Interns will apply skills acquired in school in a professional setting and gain a better understanding of an outpatient therapy provider treating patients with mental health and substance use diagnoses. Easterseals PORT Health provides in-person and telehealth services in disability, mental health, and substance use, and describes itself as an inclusive organization committed to learning and growth.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a Human Services or PMHNP program.
• Proficient use of Microsoft Office and internet applications.
• Strong interpersonal skills and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to carry out assigned projects to completion.
• Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
