About The Position

Horizon Air is seeking an intern to support its Maintenance Quality Assurance department during summer 2027. The internship is a full-time, 12-week program based in Portland, Oregon; candidates who do not already live in the internship city must relocate for its duration. Interns may choose between two program timelines to align with different academic calendars. The role is intended to provide skill development and work experience and does not guarantee future employment. Interns also have opportunities to network with employees and company leaders and receive standby travel benefits.

Requirements

Be pursuing a bachelor's degree in Aeronautics, Maintenance Analytics, Aviation Safety, Human Factors, or a related field.
Have excellent communication skills and Microsoft Office Suite skills.
Be organized, detail-oriented, self-motivated, able to handle multiple tasks, possess problem-solving skills, and be able to set and meet deadlines.
Read, write, and understand English.
Be enrolled in an undergraduate program and have at least one semester or quarter of school remaining after the internship.
Have achieved junior or higher academic standing at the time of application.
Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
Be at least 18 years old.
Be authorized to work in the United States.

Exposure to aviation rules and regulations.
Familiarity with database creation and maintenance.

Responsibilities

Collect, analyze, and enter data for the Maintenance Quality Assurance department.
Develop tools for data collection to simplify analytical processes.
Assist with streamlining pre- and post-audit scheduling to support risk assessment.
Research known or suspected Maintenance department concerns.
Assist in creating presentations, reviewing manuals, and conducting audit research.
Interact with departments inside and outside of Maintenance as needed.
