About The Position

As an Air Quality Intern with Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC), based in the Chicago, Illinois office, you will work under the direction of project managers and other staff. You will help clients in the manufacturing, power, natural gas, mining, and waste industries obtain air quality permits, expand existing operations, and comply with ongoing state and federal regulations. The work involves evaluating data, performing calculations, learning environmental regulations, and completing regulatory forms, requiring strong analytical and communication skills. CEC’s internship program provides practical experience applying college coursework, opportunities to learn from industry experts and collaborate with teams across functional groups and locations, and a discipline-specific mentor for real-world challenges. Interns can also build professional networks through social events and interactive activities and participate in workshops that develop interpersonal skills and prepare students for full-time careers.

Requirements

Currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree program in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Meteorology, or a related field.
Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
Strong communication skills.
Must be legally authorized to work for CEC in the United States without sponsorship.
