About The Position

Nexus Water Group is seeking an Engineering Intern to learn more about the water and wastewater industry. This role involves assisting the Project Manager with project inspections, budget/schedule updates, and GPS field location of assets, all under the direct supervision of the VP of Operations. The intern will gain experience in developing basic sewer collection and water distribution system layouts, assisting with contractor scheduling and budget updates, and performing clerical support tasks.

Requirements

• Acceptance into a Bachelor of Science Engineering degree program (Civil or Mechanical).
• Completion of 1st year of college at an accredited institution.
• Ability to efficiently use MS Word/Excel and Foxit PDF Editor.
• Louisiana Driver’s License.
• Able to work well in a fast paced, high energy environment.
• Able to work independently and have a positive attitude.
• Possess and maintain a valid State of Louisiana driver’s license throughout the period of employment.

Responsibilities

• Develop basic sewer collection system layouts.
• Develop basic water distribution system layouts.
• Assist Project Manager with basic site surveying and site inspections.
• Assist Project Manager with contractor scheduling.
• Assist Project Manager with budget updates.
• Assisting with clerical and support tasks as assigned by the Project Manager or VP of Operations.
