About The Position

HPM is seeking college students in Construction Management/Construction Project Management, Mechanical or Civil Engineering, or other construction-related degree programs for our 2027 Summer Internship program. We are hiring several interns for both our Englewood, CO and Anchorage, AK locations. Our interns work alongside our teams in the field, contributing to real projects and learning what it takes to be a solutions provider for our clients, partners, and people. HPM expects our interns to work 40+ hrs/week for a minimum of 10 weeks. We encourage students to work up to 15 weeks depending on availability. HPM is a General Contractor located in Englewood, Colorado with a focus in three primary working groups; 1) Federal, 2) Commercial, and 3) Civil. We work all throughout the front range and select locations throughout Colorado, as well as key projects out of state including our secondary office in Anchorage, AK. We pride ourselves in managing clean, organized, and professional projects from start to finish with an emphasis on successful client relationships. Much of our work is for repeat clients including local governments, private clients, and the federal government. We utilize proven project management fundamentals on each of our projects. Requirements

  • Must be a US citizen
  • Must be over the age of 18 to apply
  • A valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record may be required depending on project assignment and scope of work
  • Must be teachable, open and responsive to feedback
  • Must be driven and excited to gain hands-on experience
  • Must have a commitment to safety, working closely with team members to prevent accidents/injuries
  • Must have solid computer skills – Procore and Bluebeam experience a plus
  • Ensure consistent and punctual attendance, demonstrating reliability and regularity
  • Complete tasks within designated deadlines during standard operating hours and be available for overtime and weekend work as necessary
  • Work safely and efficiently, adhering to both oral and written instructions, including safety protocols, equipment guidelines, and company policies
  • Sit, stand and/or walk for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift 25+ pounds frequently
  • Ability to work in the office, in a job trailer, and outside in varying weather conditions as needed, sometimes around loud noise

Responsibilities

  • Become familiar with HPM’s culture and business practices and how they affect client, subcontractor, and HPM team member relationships
  • Assist project team with maintaining record documents such as testing, inspections, progress photographs, daily reports, etc.
  • Attend daily and weekly project meetings with both HPM team and external parties such as subcontractors, vendors, clients.
  • By end of summer, lead morning stretch & flex with project team including safety/toolbox talks.
  • Perform tasks related to the collection of schedule data required to monitor project progress.
  • Assist in the packaging and preparation of submittents, change orders, RFIs, and posting of contracting documents.
  • Become familiar with contract drawings, specifications, shop drawings, and submittals to ensure compliance of work and gain overall understanding of scope of work.
  • Assist with project tasks as assigned, could be a variety of hands-on field work, surveying duties, computer-based tasks, depending on project needs.
