About The Position

The Training and Development Intern will assist with the development and implementation of the training and development program for mid-level managers at Cornerstones as outlined in the Strengthening Communities 2025 grant given by Northern Virginia Health. This includes sourcing speakers, educational material, and relevant support documents. This person will assist in communications, logistics, and evaluation for cohort meetings.

Requirements

  • 1 year of experience in administrative or customer services role.
  • Verbal and written proficiency in English.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite or related software.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented, with strong attention to follow-through.
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.

  • On-going degree (bachelor’s or graduate level) work in Training and Development, Human Resources, or related field.

Responsibilities

  • Formulate training outlines and determine instructional methods utilizing knowledge of specified training needs and effectiveness of such methods, such as, group instruction, lectures, demonstrations, meetings, and workshops.
  • Select or develop training aids including training handbooks, demonstration models, multimedia visual aids, computer tutorials, and reference works.
  • Assist in sourcing instructors or speakers.
  • Understand and work within the constraints of grant budget.
  • Create communications and evaluation materials for all aspects of the program.
  • Work with EVP, HR to develop program to last past the end of the grant.
  • Responsible for scheduling and communicating with speakers.
  • Responsible for reserving rooms, ordering food, and preparing supplies for meetings.
  • Generate agendas, necessary copies, assessment sheets, and other documents as needed.
  • Manage participant communications and ensure scheduled meetings meet the needs of attendees.
  • Serve as point of contact for all aspects of the program.
  • Evaluate effectiveness of program utilizing relevant evaluation data to revise or recommend changes in instructional objectives and methods.
  • Review instructor evaluations and recommend improvements to program content and/or instructor presentation methods.
  • Produce written documentation to comply with reporting requirements outlined in grant.
