About The Position

IMEG is hiring a Civil Intern Technician in Rock Island, IL, to work alongside experienced engineers and consultants on engineering analysis, design, field inspections, report writing, permit applications, and site drainage and grading designs. This 10–12 week internship offers hands-on civil engineering experience while supporting project budgets, cross-functional collaboration, and client expectations.

Requirements

Pursuing an Associates Degree utilizing Autodesk Civil 3D or equivalent software tools or engineering required
May be required to assist with field duties such as surveying and materials testing
Strong interest in design consulting
Skill in the use of Microsoft Office programs, CAD software and BIM
Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups

Nice To Haves

Prior internship experience in the building design consulting industry preferred

Responsibilities

Support civil design tasks in accordance with code and IMEG standards
Research commercially available equipment and resources
Maintain client relations, project design notebooks, and permanent record documentation
Coordinate design and schedules with architectural, structural, electrical, mechanical, technology, clerical, and equipment supplier teams
Document design decisions, meetings, client instructions, and project progress
Review project documents for accuracy and completeness before final check
Prepare and issue addendum information
Conduct periodic job site observations and provide services required by the contract services agreement
