About The Position

This internship offers an opportunity to join a hardworking IT support team passionate about solving IT problems. The intern will support the information technology needs of a leading university-affiliated research center, working with engineers, scientists, and business professionals addressing critical national challenges. The primary responsibility will be to provide onsite and remote support services to customers, including delivery and system setup, computer imaging, computer and peripheral installation and repair, software installs, and iOS setups/troubleshooting. The role involves resolving IT problems submitted via phone, email, chat, and the ticketing system, as well as performing system quality assurance and testing, and other assigned duties.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or other IT-related field.
  • A minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale.
  • Familiarity with troubleshooting IT software and hardware.
  • Familiarity with Windows OS and Microsoft Office products.
  • Possess a positive attitude with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently.
  • Highly motivated and have strong customer service skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Able to obtain a Secret security clearance.
  • U.S. citizenship.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience troubleshooting Windows and Mac computer hardware and software.
  • Familiarity with Linux OS, printer troubleshooting and scripting.
  • IT certifications (e.g., A+, Sec+, Network+).

Responsibilities

  • Provide onsite and remote support services to Lab customers with IT issues to include delivery and system setup, computer imaging, computer and peripheral installation and repair, software installs and iOS setups/troubleshooting.
  • Resolve IT problems submitted via phone, email, chat and the ticketing system.
  • Perform system quality assurance and testing.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
