About The Position

This internship/student position offers entry- to intermediate-level professional services under the supervision of professional staff. The role involves participating in projects and programs designed to develop professional skills and expertise relevant to the organization's needs. The intern will contribute to the planning and implementation of unit projects, interact with colleagues and clients, and receive guidance and mentoring. Responsibilities may include conducting research, preparing reports with recommendations, and undertaking related studies. The position is located at 794 Roble Rd, Primary Location: HNL- Roble, Position Type: Onsite, Department: 1046-00021 Finance.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent required.
  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in applicable concentration.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
  • Convey a skilled phone manner for handling internal and external customers issues.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to work independently; demonstrate initiative and analytical ability; and possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work with minimal supervision and direction.
  • Capacity to cover a broad scope of technologies and functionalities such as password resets (all systems), Microsoft Windows issues or questions, assistance with Outlook or other Office products, etc.
  • General computer skills including Windows XP, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word), etc.
  • Working knowledge of the Misys Lab system to include patient reporting processes.

Responsibilities

  • Provides entry- to intermediate-level professional services, under supervision of professional staff as appropriate to the day-to-day operating objectives of the unit.
  • Undertakes and/or participates in projects and programs designed to develop professional skills and expertise appropriate to the needs of the organization.
  • Participates in the planning and implementation of unit projects and initiatives within area of expertise.
  • Interacts directly with colleagues, clientele, and/or other internal or external constituencies in the planning of assignments and the resolution of day-to-day operational problems.
  • Receives guidance, training, and mentoring from professional personnel in planning and carrying out activities and assignments.
  • As appropriate to the position and as specified by unit management, conducts original research, and prepares reports based on findings, to include recommendations or alternative proposals for action.
  • May undertake related studies or enrichment programs as appropriate to the specific objectives of the operating unit.
