Position Summary At Longitude Rx, we partner with health systems to optimize specialty pharmacy performance for high-cost, specialty, and rare-disease therapies. This internship offers hands-on exposure to strategy, operations, and market dynamics within the rapidly evolving specialty and orphan drug landscape.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a degree in healthcare administration, pharmacy, public health, business, life sciences, or a related field.
  • Exposure to healthcare consulting, pharmacy operations, or life sciences industry preferred.
  • Familiarity with reimbursement, payer systems, or pharmaceutical commercialization preferred.
  • Experience working on team-based projects or managing multiple priorities.
  • Strong analytical and research skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to synthesize complex information into clear, concise insights
  • Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Interest in specialty pharmacy, rare diseases, and healthcare strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct market and competitive analyses focused on orphan drugs and rare-disease therapies, including product landscape, payer dynamics, manufacturer distribution channels, and patient access considerations.
  • Support evaluation of specialty pharmacy workflows, including prescription capture, reimbursement processes, access barriers, and operational bottlenecks impacting financial and clinical outcomes.
  • Assist in developing strategic deliverables such as executive summaries, internal briefing documents, workflow recommendations, and presentation materials.
  • Synthesize clinical, reimbursement, operational, and market data into clear, decision-oriented insights for internal stakeholders.
  • Support cross-functional project management efforts, including timeline tracking, deliverable coordination, and implementation planning for specialty pharmacy initiatives.
  • Contribute to assessments of commercialization and access readiness for rare-disease therapies within health-system specialty pharmacy settings.
  • Assist in analyzing payer strategies and manufacturer channel opportunities relevant to specialty and orphan drug products.
  • Participate in strategic discussions on optimizing specialty pharmacy operations to enhance reimbursement efficiency, margin performance, patient outcomes, and sustainable program growth.
