About The Position
This is a summer internship opportunity at Shannon Specialty Pharmacy in San Angelo, TX, for 2026. The intern will gain hands-on experience in specialty pharmacy, work alongside experienced professionals, and build a foundation for their future career. The role offers a Monday-Friday schedule with consistent hours and explores long-term career opportunities within Omnicell. The internship is community-based, not in a big-box retail environment, and housing is provided by Shannon Medical Center if needed. It is a paid summer internship.
Requirements
- Active Registered Pharmacist Intern license (Texas State Board of Pharmacy)
- Accepted into or currently enrolled in an ACPE-accredited college or school of pharmacy
- High school diploma or GED
Nice To Haves
- One (1) to three (3) years of relevant pharmacy or healthcare experience
Responsibilities
- Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications accurately and safely
- Deliver exceptional, personalized customer service—both in person and over the phone
- Support patients with empathy, helping them navigate questions and concerns with confidence
- Develop knowledge in specialty disease states (gastroenterology focus)
- Accurately enter patient, medication, billing, and sales data into pharmacy systems
- Contribute to team success and continuous improvement initiatives
