About The Position

Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated Intern – Signalling Engineer for summer 2027. The internship opportunity will provide exposure to Wayside Signalling Engineering. Requirements

  • Strong relevant technical skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Current Engineering student at a 4-year university with a graduation date between December 2027 and May 2028
  • English Proficient

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design of wayside interlocking circuits in accordance with established design principles, procedures, and specifications.
  • Assist in programming wayside microprocessor devices in accordance with interlocking rules and all related specifications.
  • Prepare project and design documentation.
  • Assist with test setup and testing of wayside systems. This includes system integration testing with Carborne, office and other systems.
  • Follow established design principles, procedures and specifications as detailed for proper programming of microprocessor devices.
  • Assist in developing cost estimates for project bids
