About The Position

The SHE Intern supports Dunmore’s Safety, Health, and Environmental programs through safety observations, data analysis, compliance activities, training support, and continuous improvement projects. This position provides hands-on experience in a roll-to-roll plastic film manufacturing environment, with exposure to hazard identification, proactive risk management, environmental compliance, safety systems, and corrective action processes. The intern will collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and other teams to support a safe, compliant, and continuously improving workplace.

Requirements

  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to conduct field observations and interact with employees at all levels.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Analytical and detail-oriented with an interest in problem-solving and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with safety inspections, audits, Gemba walks, and other proactive risk-identification activities to identify hazards and opportunities for improvement.
  • Aid in industrial hygiene monitoring activities such as noise or air sampling.
  • Participate in incident and near-miss reviews, contributing to root cause analysis, corrective action tracking, and identification of recurring trends.
  • Collect, organize, and analyze safety data, including near-miss, hazard, incident, and corrective-action information, to support proactive risk-management initiatives.
  • Support implementation, data organization, documentation, and user adoption activities related to EHS systems and technology.
  • Support emergency preparedness programs, including evacuation drills and first aid training coordination.
  • Assist with development of safety training materials and employee resources.
  • Provide general support for environmental compliance reporting, including waste, emissions, and recycling data.
  • Collect and organize environmental and sustainability data related to air emissions, energy use, waste generation, and recycling programs.
  • Support SHE continuous improvement projects and communicate findings or recommendations to appropriate team members.
  • Other Duties as needed or required.
