About The Position

This Summer 2027 Internship in Quality Engineering at Stryker offers a unique opportunity for students to contribute to meaningful projects, gain exposure to leaders, and experience a culture of innovation and teamwork. Interns will apply classroom knowledge, implement new ideas, develop skills, network with stakeholders, and document complex processes. The internship focuses on making healthcare better by ensuring the quality, safety, and reliability of Stryker's medical technologies. Opportunities are available in Advanced Quality (AQE), Process Quality (PQE), Supplier Quality (SQE), and general Quality roles, each with distinct focuses on product development, production support, supplier management, and post-market quality.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related field; must remain enrolled in a degree-seeking program after the internship.
  • Cumulative 3.0 GPA or above (verified at time of hire).
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. and not require employment-based sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with proven ability to collaborate and build relationships.
  • Demonstrated leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and eagerness to learn in a dynamic environment.

  • Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related majors.

  • Work on engineering projects related to development of new products (AQE).
  • Focus on human factors engineering, risk management, application of statistics, reliability engineering, design verification, and design validation including customer interaction (AQE).
  • Ensure that the products developed at Stryker will work consistently for our customers to meet or exceed their expectations (AQE).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support product sustainment (PQE).
  • Perform robust root cause analysis and implement effective corrective actions when non-conforming issues arise in production (PQE).
  • Focus on quality, compliance and continuous improvement (PQE).
  • Work with a variety of tools including CAD for fixture design, root cause analysis methods, LabView, and validation activities to optimize production, inspection, and quality system processes (PQE).
  • Be responsible for all things supplier-related (SQE).
  • Work closely with suppliers to ensure components and their manufacturing processes meet our required standards (SQE).
  • Work closely with internal customers from multiple functions, meeting with suppliers frequently, and use both technical and business skills (SQE).
  • Ensure we develop and sustain a product with the highest quality (Quality).
  • Evaluate risk, ensure customer user needs are met, and help drive craftsmanship, safety, durability and reliability into the product (Quality).
  • Handle any complaints and implement design changes, as needed, to address quality issues on the post-market side (Quality).
