This position is open to candidates residing in U.S. states where the organization is currently authorized to employ individuals. Eligible work locations will be confirmed during the hiring process. The Global Public Policy & Advocacy team at SEMI offers a paid fall internship program for current students interested in careers in government policy and advocacy. SEMI is the industry association representing the full semiconductor supply chain. Many of our team members have served in key government positions and offer the industry a sophisticated understanding of the relationship between government and business.
Requirements
- Enrolled at least part time in an undergraduate or graduate education program
- Available to work 30 hours per week for the duration of the 12-14 week program between mid-September through December.
- Strong writing skills
- Interest in public policy as a future career path
- Must submit a resume with current cumulative GPA, a cover letter, and a 1-3 page writing sample on an advocacy or policy topic of their choosing.
- Must submit all documents by 11:59 pm ET on Sunday, August 23, 2026.
Nice To Haves
- Previous government-related experience is recommended
Responsibilities
- Monitoring trade, tax, CHIPS, workforce, and environment policy developments
- Drafting background research and memos relating to legislative efforts and regulatory policy
- Shadowing team members for congressional and other stakeholder engagement.
