About The Position

Goodwill South Florida is seeking a Philanthropy Operations Intern to support the Office of Philanthropy. This internship provides hands-on experience in nonprofit fundraising operations, donor relations, data management, and administrative support. Working closely with the Director of Philanthropy Operations and the Vice President of Philanthropy, the intern will gain exposure to the daily operations of a fundraising department while contributing to projects that support Goodwill South Florida's mission. This position is ideal for a student or recent graduate interested in nonprofit management, philanthropy, fundraising, business administration, communications, or finance. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, eager to learn, and passionate about making a positive impact in the community.

Requirements

  • Interest in nonprofit management, fundraising, philanthropy, communications, business administration, finance, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Willingness to learn new systems and processes.

  • Communication and customer services - Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English. Spanish/French-Creole is a plus but not required. Responsibilities

  • Support the Director of Philanthropy Operations with departmental projects and administrative tasks. Specific projects may include the research of donor profiles and recording and documentation of staff and client testimonials.
  • Assist with data entry and record maintenance in the donor database.
  • Support the preparation of donor acknowledgments, stewardship materials, and donor communications.
  • Help generate reports, update records, and maintain accurate donor information.
  • Assist with special fundraising and donor engagement projects.
  • Participate in team meetings, planning sessions, and departmental initiatives.
  • Learn about philanthropy operations, gift processing, donor stewardship, and nonprofit fundraising best practices.
  • Support Goodwill South Florida’s mission, values, and culture through daily work and interactions.
  • Complete additional projects and assignments as requested.
