The Natural Gas and NGL Services (Gathering and Processing) Instrumentation and Electrical Technician Intern/Co-op will perform installation, maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting, repairs, and system development for all instrumentation, electrical and interfaces with control systems. Provides I & E (instrumentation and electrical) support for assigned assets such as pipelines, compressor stations, and processing facilities. Installs, inspects, troubleshoots, maintains, repairs, and calibrates wide variety of midstream instrumentation such as, but not limited to, flow meters, transmitters, flame detectors, gas detectors, sensors, analyzers, data loggers, programmable logic controller (PLCs), distributive control system (DCS), and various valve / actuator assemblies. Installs, inspects, troubleshoots, maintains, and repairs electrical equipment such as, but not limited to, motor control centers, generators, transformers, switches, relays, wiring, electrical signal and communication systems, variable frequency drive (VFD), power distribution center (PDCs), uninterrupted power supply (UPS). Interfaces with industrial control systems. Performs loops checks, point-to-point verification, and other testing methods. Maintains complete, accurate and regulatory-compliant documentation utilizing the work management process and procedures. Requirements

  • Pursuing a degree or certification in electrical or instrumentation technical disciplines.
  • Strong academic performance.
  • Authorized to work in the US on a full-time indefinite basis without the need for employment visa sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Availability to work 40 hours per week.
  • Valid driver's license required.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficient use in electrical testing, calibration, and/or instrument communication tools is preferred.
  • Availability for multiple work terms is preferred.
  • Military experience a plus.
  • Will require time spent in the field monitoring and managing field activities as required in various areas of our Midstream natural gas and light crude facilities, including pipelines, compressor stations, pump stations and other related facilities.
  • Many projects may require travel.

Responsibilities
