About The Position

Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated Intern – Network Engineering for Summer 2027. The position is based in Pittsburgh, PA. Requirements

• Knowledge of networking and/or radio technologies
• Broad knowledge of Switching and Routing protocols
• Broad knowledge of wireless communications
• Ability to use test equipment
• Excellent written and oral communications skills and ability to communicate complex technical information
• Strong relevant technical skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
• Current Engineering student at a 4-year university with a graduation date between December 2027 and December 2028.
• Fluent in English, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Support execution of design, configuration, test activities
• Maintain an open action items list and produce effective reporting.
• Configure Cisco equipment (switches routers, radios)
• Configure Networks and Fiber Optic Cabling Systems
• Optimization and testing of Radio, network and fibers.
