About The Position

At ENGIE, we are accelerating the transition to a carbon-neutral world. Our renewable energy portfolio across North America is growing fast, and we need curious, driven minds to help shape the deals that make it happen. As a Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) Intern, you will be part of ENGIE North America’s M&A and Business Development team, supporting the evaluation and execution of grid-scale renewable energy transactions across North America. The role offers hands-on exposure to live acquisitions and divestments, strategic market analysis, and senior-level investment decision-making. This full-time summer internship is limited to no more than 40 hours per week and reports to leadership within the M&A and Business Development organization.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2nd year undergraduate or graduate degree in Economics, Finance, Business, Engineering, Science, or related field
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and familiarity with Power BI is a plus
  • Excellent organizational, prioritization, and time management skills with a high degree of accuracy
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative and be a self-starter in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbally
  • Interns must be enrolled students in good standing at the commencement of the intern semester
  • Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies

Responsibilities

  • Support financial modeling and valuation work (DCF, comparable companies, precedent transactions) for renewable energy project acquisitions, including solar, battery storage, and wind assets
  • Conduct industry, market, and competitor research to inform investment theses and bid strategy
  • Assist in preparing investment committee memoranda and transaction presentations
  • Support transaction diligence, including data room management, document review, and coordination across development, engineering, construction, power marketing, finance and legal workstreams
  • Analyze key risks, sensitivities, and value drivers impacting asset pricing and deal structure
  • Track and summarize market activity, active deal flow, and pipeline opportunities across North American power markets
  • Participate in internal discussions on deal strategy, structuring considerations, and investment recommendations
