About The Position

First Solar is hiring an intern for a semester-length internship in Manufacturing Engineering – Integration. The company may offer a role best suited to the candidate’s experience and skillset. Interns gain real-world experience and contribute to First Solar’s sustainable energy mission in a collaborative culture that values innovation, smart risk-taking, learning from failures, and personal accountability. Interns may enroll in classes while working, provided coursework does not interfere with the position’s essential functions. First Solar encourages interns to register their internships with their universities. The intern will participate in an engineering project focused on improving yield and efficiency, working with Integration Engineering and cross-functional team members. The intern will help achieve targeted results, establish systems, and track and document engineering changes. At the end of the internship, the intern must present accomplishments and a project summary to the leadership team. The estimated pay range is $22–$25 per hour. The position may involve manufacturing-floor, project-site, and office settings. Physical requirements include extended periods of sitting, standing, or walking; stair climbing; lifting, pushing, and pulling within specified limits; frequent use of hands; reaching; and occasional stooping, kneeling, or bending. Certain work requires corrected or uncorrected 20/40 vision, color distinction, compliance with safety procedures, and wearing personal protective equipment. Associates working on the production floor may be required to wear a respirator. Office work involves interaction with people and technology and face-to-face and telephone communication, with or without reasonable accommodation.
