About The Position

As an “Intern, IT”, you will assist in supporting and securing enterprise information and operational technology systems, including applications, cloud platforms (SaaS, IaaS, PaaS), databases, networking, and end‑user hardware. The role includes exposure to cybersecurity fundamentals such as identity and access management, system monitoring, incident triage, and adherence to security standards, while contributing to system stability and operational effectiveness. A heavy focus of the internship will be supporting NIST CSF 2.0 and SOC compliance efforts through policy development and evidence gathering. This position works in a fast‑paced, collaborative, Agile/Kanban environment supporting manufacturing, financial, and technology initiatives across the organization.

Requirements

  • Completion of 2 to 4 years of a university‑accredited Information Technology or Cybersecurity–focused Associate or Bachelor’s program, with strong preference given to candidates who have completed coursework in cybersecurity controls, vulnerability analysis, information risk management, and/or network security analysis
  • Willingness and desire to learn and apply advanced IT and project management principles and tools
  • Self‑motivated, self‑starter with the ability to work independently
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively both in a team environment and independentlywhile tackling complex problems
  • Accountability for quality and timely delivery of assigned work and deliverables
  • Ability to communicate effectively and take ownership in overcoming roadblocks to performance or deliverables
  • Ability to articulate technical concepts in clear, non‑technical terms without distorting the message

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and triage helpdesk (HaaS) escalation queue to ensure operational & financial productivity and overall system avaibility.
  • Proactively review historical issue data to initiate, plan, and deliver continuous production-system improvements.
  • Engage with balance of Systems Engineering team to upgrade and/or replace legacy production systems.
  • Manage assigned project Kanban (JIRA) and deliver project-based system enhancements to approved specification.
  • Engage with IT Support Manager and systems analysis team (IT Project Manager) to define and support system configuration projects.
  • Interface with stakeholders to define, train, and validate system requirements, utilizing end-user appropriate language and tools.
  • Proactively identify, record, and escalate blockers and risks to operational effectiveness or system availability/stability.
  • Develop technical documentation and deliver end-user training on newly deployed or upgraded systems.
  • Other duties as assigned by IT leadership team.
