The IT Infrastructure Intern will provide assistance to the Infrastructure Department with various recurring tasks as well as special projects. Requirements

  • The internship will run for Summer of 2027 beginning mid-May and ending early August.
  • Able to work a 40-hour work week, Monday-Friday, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
  • Must reside local to Effingham, IL and report to the Effingham office.
  • Enrolled in a degree program with courses of study including Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field at a college or university with at least 2 years completed.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, communication skills, and a desire to learn.
  • Basic understanding of networking, servers, and operating systems.
  • Works well in team environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Teams.
  • Demonstrates ability to learn and use new software and programs.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with scripting languages such as PowerShell or Python is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with infrastructure documentation and inventory, hardware replacement and configuration, server maintenance and patching, and technology lifecycle and modernization projects.
  • Support technology refresh initiatives across the Bank's footprint.
  • Gain hands-on exposure to enterprise infrastructure including networking, servers, cloud technologies, security, storage and backup, directory and authentication, collaboration and communications, monitoring, and automation.
  • Depending on skill set and project needs, assist with scripting and automation efforts that improve the efficiency of routine infrastructure tasks.
  • Shadow members of the Infrastructure team across multiple technical domains and collaborate with other IT teams and business units.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Maintain compliance with all applicable regulations including, but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA).
