Position Summary: An intern supports the assigned department by assisting with a variety of tasks, including special project assignments and active participation in project inspection and documentation, to gain practical experience and support their educational development. Immigration sponsorship or support (e.g. H1B, F-1 CPT/OPT/STEM OPT) is not available for this position, except for qualified candidates eligible for the TN visa classification. Compensation for this position is $20-$23/hourly , commensurate with experience, education and certifications. The provided range is a good faith estimate based on the requirements described within the job description. If so, the actual salary range may vary from the estimate provided.

Requirements

  • Familiarity in using standard Microsoft Office for document creation and email communication
  • Ability to prepare well organized, clear, and concise written materials
  • Ability to support work with attention to detail and creativity
  • Developing presentation skills, including communicating ideas to different groups
  • Ability to manage time and workload effectively with guidance from supervisors
  • Strong teamwork skills with the ability to collaborate well with others
  • Must successfully complete and pass JMT's Motor Vehicle screening
  • High school graduate with interest in infrastructure projects

Responsibilities

  • Help prepare drawings and sketches for documenting progress in construction ses
  • Support the creation of Inspectors Daily Reports
  • Assist with construction phase activities, including participating in site visits, supporting RFI responses, reviewing shop drawings, and helping update record drawings
  • Follow established quality control procedures and ask questions as needed
  • Develop basic inspection skills through hands-on experience
  • Participate in team meetings and collaborate with team members
  • Receive guidance and direction from supervisors and team leaders
  • Collaborate with engineers, Construction Project Supervisors, and other multidisciplinary team members
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
