About The Position

This internship in General Radiology provides an opportunity for students enrolled in an accredited program to gain hands-on experience. Interns will provide services to patients under direct supervision, prepare and position patients for imaging procedures, and assist supervising technologists and physicians. The role also involves implementing radiation protection and safety standards, administering contrast media and medications, and maintaining a clean and orderly department environment.

Requirements

BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.
High school diploma equivalency AND enrolled in an accredited program specific to discipline.

Responsibilities

Provide services to patients under the direct supervision.
Prepare and position patients and select exposure factors accurately.
Implement radiation protection and safety standards.
Prepare for and assist the supervising technologists and physicians in a variety of imaging procedures.
Prepare and administer contrast media and medications within accepted scope of practice and applicable state and federal regulations.
Position patients and select anatomic and technical parameters accurately.
Assist in maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly department to include procedure rooms, storage areas, dressing rooms, film storage area and any other areas in department.
