About The Position

This is an internship position in the Computerized Tomography (CT) department at Ascension Sacred Heart Gulf in Port St. Joe, FL. The intern will provide services to patients under direct supervision, prepare and position patients, select exposure factors accurately, implement radiation protection and safety standards, and assist supervising technologists and physicians in various imaging procedures. The role also involves preparing and administering contrast media and medications within the scope of practice and maintaining a clean and safe department environment.

Requirements

BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
High school diploma equivalency OR Enrolled in accredited program specific to discipline.

Currently enrolled in the Radiology program.

Responsibilities

Provide services to patients under the direct supervision.
Prepare and position patients and selects exposure factors accurately.
Implement radiation protection and safety standards.
Prepare for and assist the supervising technologists and physicians in a variety of imaging procedures.
Prepare and administer contrast media and medications within accepted scope of practice and applicable state and federal regulations.
Position patients and select anatomic and technical parameters accurately.
Assist in maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly department to include procedure rooms, storage areas, dressing rooms, film storage area and any other areas in department.
