About The Position

The Future Focus Internship Program at Erie Insurance provides professional and personal development opportunities. Interns gain professional experience in a challenging setting and are welcomed into the ERIE family. Interns have opportunities for socializing with high-level leaders, including the President and CEO. Erie Insurance is committed to helping interns learn and grow through challenging positions offering relevant, real-world business experience. This internship is for potential ERIE Internal Audit Interns for the upcoming summer program. The internship includes orientation to the company and the insurance industry, a variety of challenging assignments in a stimulating work environment, a personal mentor, and various educational, social, and community service events with other interns. Social events and networking activities with senior leaders, including the CEO, are also part of the program. Relocation assistance may be available to those who qualify. Erie Insurance has multiple talent programs and initiatives focused on attracting underrepresented students for internships and other job opportunities.

Requirements

  • College students currently enrolled at an accredited college or university to pursue a four-year degree or to complete a master's degree program full-time.
  • A four-year degree student should be completing sophomore, junior, or senior year (graduating in spring 2027 thru spring 2029).
  • High school diploma, or equivalent, required.
  • Pursuit of Bachelor's degree with completion of sophomore year in a relevant field required.

Nice To Haves

  • A minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 is highly preferred.
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA preferred.
  • Working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Performs various tasks related to the achievement of division objectives.
  • Conducts research and gathers information and assists in creating presentations as required.
  • Analyzes data and reports findings.
  • Verifies and enters data into appropriate system, and updates electronic files.
  • Provides clerical and administrative support as needed.
  • Completes special projects as required.
  • Be provided opportunities to develop skills and gain experience and knowledge of the Internal Audit profession, including risk management practices.
  • Assist in conducting audit projects throughout the organization, impacting the control environment and providing executive management with assurance as to the adequacy of the design and the effectiveness of the controls in place.
  • Interact and network with members of Internal Audit, process and control owners, and leaders throughout the organization, enabling the intern to build relationships that will benefit them their entire career.
  • Use business systems and applications to electronically communicate, perform analysis, document tests of controls, and complete audit assignments.
