About The Position

This internship focuses on Horticulture and Landscape Design, providing hands-on experience in plant care, maintenance, and landscape installation. The intern will be responsible for various horticultural tasks, equipment operation, and reporting on landscape conditions and safety concerns.

Requirements

Pursuing a Horticulture degree, or related field degree.
Ability to operate equipment with precision and care.
Must be able to stand, bend, stretch, kneel, and lift up to 50 lbs. consistently.
Regularly required to stand, walk, bend, kneel and work in various weather conditions.
Strong attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in landscape maintenance or landscape installation.

Responsibilities

Planting, transplanting shrubs, trees, and other plants.
Pruning, trimming, and shaping plants for healthy growth and aesthetics.
Fertilizing, weeding, and watering plants according to standards.
Mowing turf, edging borders, and maintaining walkways and paths.
Removing debris, fallen leaves, and dead plants.
Installing and maintaining mulch, pine straw, compost, and other ground coverings.
Spraying and recording all chemical use.
Operating and maintaining horticultural tools and equipment (e.g., pruners, trimmers, irrigation systems).
Performing routine cleaning and minor repairs of tools and equipment.
Collaborating with supervisors and team members on landscaping projects.
Reporting issues related to plant health, equipment, or landscape areas.
Performing other duties as assigned by supervision.
Operating equipment according to company safety and training programs.
Using personal protective equipment as trained and required.
Maintaining a safe and clean work environment.
Reporting safety or hazard concerns to management.
Reporting on-the-job injuries to management immediately.
Taking personal responsibility for safety.
Reporting equipment issues to the Equipment Manager immediately.
