About The Position

The Health & Safety Department for Capital Projects ensures all safety aspects are managed throughout project work. This includes overseeing contractors by reviewing their health and safety plans, supporting project inspections, and investigating any incidents. The team also works to maintain a safe environment for both Tallgrass employees and contractors at the Houston office.

Requirements

Student actively enrolled in a degreed program and attending classes related to Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Health, Emergency Management, Industrial Engineering, Public Health, Business Administration, Civil Engineering, Organizational Effectiveness or other human resource type discipline with expected graduation date of December 2026- May 2028.
Collaborate with a wide variety of people with tact, courtesy, and professionalism.
Maintain a high regard for personal safety, for the safety of company assets and employees, and the public.
Detail orientated related to reports, safety analytical trends and other data tracking.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge and familiarity with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, PowerBI and Smartsheet are preferred.

Work independently following tasks or project direction
Willing to effectively collaborate with other departments
Proficiency in Power BI or Smartsheet applications

Responsibilities

Assist in developing contractor safety standards to be implemented and put through the company’s management of change program.
Enter and track project safety data and produce reports for analysis and intervention strategy development.
Assist in organizing and conducting contractor safety roundtables in areas where company has project activity.
