About The Position

TRACHC is seeking a motivated recent graduate/Masters candidate for an internship opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the administration of a federally qualified health center (FQHC). The intern will work directly under the supervision of the TRACHC President and collaborate with executive leaders across the organization. This is a unique opportunity to observe and participate in the full scope of health center operations. The internship will take place from approximately June 8 – August 7, 2025, for a total of 200 hours. The specific days and hours per week can be negotiated. The wage is $15/hour ($3000), and this is a 1099 position, meaning the intern will not be an employee of TRACHC or NSCHC. The primary location is on-site at North Side Christian Health Center in Pittsburgh, PA, with potential off-site work at other TRACHC member sites and community outreach activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare Administration or related field, required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work collaboratively with a diverse team of professionals
  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Upon internship offer, candidate will be required to obtain: Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance
  • Act 34 Criminal Background Check
  • Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Currently accepted or enrolled in an accredited Masters in Health Administration (MHA) program or a related field, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist executive leadership with a variety of projects and initiatives, which may include: Community and patient outreach – supporting initiatives to engage and education the community on federally qualified health centers
  • Fundraising research – identifying grant opportunities, foundations, and funding sources relevant to TRACHC's and its members' missions
  • Human Resources – assisting with recruitment and employee engagement activities
  • Policy development – contributing to the drafting, review, and cataloging of organizational policies
  • Financial analysis – supporting review of financial reports of the organization
  • Performance evaluation – assisting with quality improvement and operational performance initiatives
  • Strengthening the administrative infrastructure by building and organizational past and current documents on an accessible platform for all members
  • Attend TRACHC and or health center Board of Directors meetings and gain exposure to nonprofit governance
  • Interact with locally elected officials and high-profile community stakeholders
