About The Position

As a Psychology doctoral student for Banner Alzheimer's Institute's graduate internship, you will gain hands-on experience in conducting neuropsychology test administration and scoring under the supervision of experienced neuropsychologists. The trainee will develop essential clinical skills including conducting neuropsychology interviews, interpreting test results, and writing comprehensive neuropsychology reports. This internship provides an excellent opportunity to gain experience in neuropsychology evaluations within a specialized setting focused on Alzheimer's disease and related disorders. You will work alongside our dedicated team of neuropsychologists where you'll build a strong foundation in clinical neuropsychology while contributing to meaningful patient care. This position typically will be up to one year in length and will work under the direct supervision of a department manager or designee. The position is responsible for expanding experiences and knowledge of practices and procedures as they relate to assigned department and area of study. These activities may include participation in a wide variety of projects.

Requirements

  • Current enrollment in a Psychology doctoral program
  • Currently enrolled in an accredited college program with coursework related to the internship or general knowledge normally obtained through the completion of a college degree.
  • Must demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must have general knowledge related to the department/unit/area of study.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency with commonly used office software and personal computers may be necessary, depending on assignment.
  • Additional related education and/or experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conducting neuropsychology test administration and scoring under supervision.
  • Developing clinical skills including conducting neuropsychology interviews.

  • Writing comprehensive neuropsychology reports.
  • Gaining experience in neuropsychology evaluations within a specialized setting focused on Alzheimer's disease and related disorders.
  • Working alongside a team of neuropsychologists.
  • Expanding and developing knowledge with exposure to a variety of roles related to area of study.
  • Participating on work teams, contributing to projects and initiatives, and performing various tasks as needed by the assigned unit/department.
  • Performing research and preparing reports on assigned topics and/or projects when required.
  • Working as a member of a team providing service to internal and external customers.
