About The Position

Geoscience Interns will have the opportunity to work within one of our Geoscience teams in one of our business units. Interns will work closely with our talented geoscience staff on an applied "hands-on" technical project, with results presented directly to the team. This internship is designed to advance professional growth, provide exposure to our high-tech industry, and exemplify the critical role geoscience careers play in EXE's success. Interns are expected to work in a safe manner at all times and demonstrate company core values. The internship could be located in our OKC or Spring corporate office and will be determined at a later date.

Requirements

  • Pursuing or completed a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in a Geoscience undergraduate program required
  • GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale preferred
  • Pursuing or plans to pursue a Master’s degree from an accredited university in a Geoscience graduate program preferred
  • Graduate Cumulate GPA of 3.2 or higher on a 4.0 scale preferred

Nice To Haves

  • Membership in a geoscience related student organization or other student organization leadership experience preferred
  • Previous industry experience preferred
  • Previous internship preferred

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate basic computer knowledge through effective use of a personal computer including Microsoft Office applications. Able to learn company specific applications
  • Able to effectively manage time and prioritize projects in order to meet established deadlines
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Able to work effectively with all levels of co-workers, clients, and other external contacts
  • Able to effectively abide company policies, procedures, and technology
  • Able to function independently in a multi-task environment, as well as part of a team
  • Able to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately
  • Basic knowledge of logging tools, measurement and quality control of logging jobs
  • Basic knowledge of horizontal drilling, directional surveys, geo-steering, and geo-steering software and workflows
  • Basic knowledge of field operations, including logging units, drilling rigs and directional framework and their relationship to basin architecture
  • Basic knowledge and familiarity with geologic database and mapping software
  • Basic knowledge of scientific theory of sequence stratigraphy and depositional framework and their relationship to basin architecture
  • Basic knowledge of laboratory analysis of samples, side wall cores, and whole cores
  • Basic knowledge of qualitative 2D and 3D seismic interpretation and has a basic seismic acquisition understanding
  • Basic knowledge of the Oil and Gas Industry
  • Ability to deliver presentations and write technical papers
