About The Position

The University Athletic Association at the University of Florida is searching for an Intern to assist the Director of Events in all aspects of generating event revenue, formulating positive relationships in the community, and promoting the availability of various UAA venues for external events. This position requires the incumbent to regularly lift 25 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds; be detail-oriented and have excellent communication and customer service skills; multitask effectively; engage effectively with others of diverse cultures or backgrounds; and work a non-standard work week which will include early mornings, late evenings, weekends, holidays. This posting will remain open until a qualified candidate is chosen. This is a non-coaching position.

Requirements

• Have or pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in appropriate area of specialization
• Valid driver’s license
• Regularly lift 25 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
• Be detail-oriented
• Have excellent communication and customer service skills
• Multitask effectively
• Engage effectively with others of diverse cultures or backgrounds
• Work a non-standard work week which will include early mornings, late evenings, weekends, holidays.

Nice To Haves

• Interest in or enrolled in graduate school
• Experience with planning/setting up events
• Experience in graphic design or digital marketing

Responsibilities

• Assist the Director of Events in all aspects of generating event revenue.
• Formulate positive relationships in the community.
• Promote the availability of various UAA venues for external events.
• Assist with opening/closing athletic facilities.
• Utilize innovative approaches to secure events commitments, plan events, and set up for events.
