About The Position

Energy Transfer is seeking motivated, dynamic, personable, and professional Environmental Permitting Interns for their summer program. The main objective for each intern is to become familiar with the assets in our energy portfolio, gaining experience in the requirements of air permitting and gaining experience in the protection, conservation, and mitigation of aquatic resources, protected species, and cultural resources for a wide range of natural gas and liquids pipeline and facility projects. This is a twelve (12) week program starting in May 2027 through August 2027 in Houston, Texas.

Requirements

  • Enrollment in an undergraduate degree program majoring in Ecology, Biology, Wildlife Management, Forestry, Rangeland Ecology, Fisheries, Environmental Studies, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering or an equivalent discipline and a minimum completion of Sophomore level engineering courses
  • Self-motivated individuals with involvement in activities outside college studies
  • Must possess a strong willingness to learn
  • An above average GPA

Responsibilities

  • Preliminary pipeline routing and facility siting
  • Interaction with state and federal agencies, project management staff, and other environmental permitting staff
  • Permit application preparation and tracking experience
  • Field visits to proposed projects or construction sites
