The ERCOT Internship Program allows college students the opportunity to develop their skills in a technical and high-paced, professional work environment. Interns receive assignments and projects that aim to solve real challenges facing the electric industry. The internship program also allows students to experience working alongside ERCOT employees and being part of a team. Throughout the internship, ERCOT leaders are able to evaluate each individual interns' capabilities and compatibility with ERCOT's mission, vision and values. We are recruiting for multiple interns in the System Planning & Weatherization department that will ultimately fill roles in the following areas of ERCOT: Planning Model Administration Operations Model Administration Reliability Assessment Modeling Regional Planning Economic Analysis & Long-Term Studies Large Load Batch Studies Transmission Planning Comprehensive Transmission Planning

Requirements

  • Pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Electrical Engineering preferably with a focus on Power Systems, Computer and Electrical Engineering.
  • Eligible candidates should be enrolled in an academic bachelors or post graduate degree program maintaining a GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with building software and coding in any of the following languages: C#, Java, or Python
  • Familiarity with database querying using SQL
  • Experience with power systems analysis
