About The Position

The Recording Academy is seeking a student for a fall 2026 Internship with our Diversity, Equity & Inclusion team. The Recording Academy is the premier national organization for honoring achievements in the recording arts and supporting the music community. As a membership organization, it represents talented music professionals including recording artists, producers, engineers, attorneys, music supervisors, composers/arrangers, managers, agents, social media and record label executives. The paid Internship Program offers a unique opportunity for full-time college students (sophomores, juniors or seniors) to gain on-site training in digital marketing, office administration, events management and artist relations, in exchange for college credit. Candidates should be energetic, hard-working and have aspirations of a career in the music industry.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a College/University for an Undergraduate or Graduate program.
  • Be a sophomore, junior, senior or graduate student.
  • Display an interest in music and commitment to a career in the recording industry.
  • Possess strong verbal, written and analytical skills.
  • Exhibit proficient computer skills and social media proficiency.
  • Continuously curious and up to date on latest marketing trends and best practices.
  • Require personal laptop.

Nice To Haves

  • One year of coursework towards degree in related field is preferred.
  • Letter from school stating that intern will receive college credit for the Recording Academy internship program.
  • Experience in e-mail marketing or proficiency with Mailchimp and Salesforce is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the Marketing team on upcoming national and Chapter-specific marketing campaigns and initiatives.
  • Gain insights on managing a brand across all internal and external touchpoints.
  • Assist with e-mail marketing, creative campaign ideation, trend research, demographics analysis, and administrative office support.
  • Collaborate with the DEI team to develop and execute communication strategies that raise awareness of DEI initiatives.
  • Assist in drafting content for internal communications, including newsletters, email correspondence, and general updates.
  • Help organize and coordinate events, workshops, and discussions related to DEI, both internally and externally.
  • Collaborate with various departments to ensure successful execution of DEI-related events.
  • Attend meetings, workshops, and discussions related to DEI initiatives and take thorough and accurate notes.
  • Provide administrative and logistical support for DEI projects, including following up after meetings, taking notes, and tracking progress.
  • Summarize key points, action items, and decisions from meetings and distribute notes to relevant stakeholders.
