About The Position

Waukesha County's Department of Public Works, Facilities Management Division, is seeking a student in the architectural, engineering or closely-related field to collect and enter information into the County's automated facility management system, verify architectural, electrical and mechanical systems, and prepare or update building AutoCAD drawings. This is a temporary position, lasting approximately 3 months, up to 12 months. It may be extended dependent upon performance, budget, and County needs; however, it will not go beyond 6 months after graduation. Candidates are required to pass a background check conducted by our Sheriff's Department prior to hiring. A cover letter and resume are welcomed however not mandatory. Requirements

Currently enrolled in an architectural, engineering, or closely-related field post-high school degree program (i.e., Associate, Bachelor, Master).
Familiarity with AutoCAD and knowledge of various buildings related software systems.
A basic understanding of buildings, construction and related systems.
Ability to read, create, and have an understanding of architectural systems and blueprints.
Ability to locate information on current buildings and equipment.
Reliable and dependable.
Accuracy and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently.
Ability to maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, supervisors, and other staff.
Must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
