About The Position

This position is for a Data Analytics Summer Intern within Smith+Nephew's Oklahoma City Operations team. The internship, planned for 12 weeks starting in May 2026, offers a hands-on opportunity to utilize the Microsoft Power Platform to transform data into actionable insights, thereby enhancing operational processes. It is designed for individuals with a curious and analytical mindset and a passion for data, providing a chance to learn, contribute, and build valuable skills in analytics and business intelligence that will support future career development. Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Analytics or Engineering
  • A basic understanding of data analysis concepts such as KPIs, trends, and metrics
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and an interest in Power BI, Power Automate, or the Microsoft Power Platform
  • Strong attention to detail, problem solving skills, and a willingness to learn
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work independently with guidance

Responsibilities

  • Supporting the design, build, and enhancement of Power BI dashboards and reports used by the Operations team
  • Cleaning, transforming, and analyzing data using Power Query, Excel, and other data sources
  • Assisting with the development of Power Automate flows to streamline reporting and business processes
  • Working with stakeholders to understand reporting and automation needs
  • Performing basic data validation and quality checks to ensure accuracy and reliability
  • Documenting reports, data sources, and automation workflows
  • Contributing to ad hoc analysis and special projects as needed
  • Participating in team meetings and sharing progress on assigned work
