About The Position

Toromont Cat is looking for an Intern - Customs Analyst to join our team! As a Customs Analyst Intern you will support some daily functions of customs department involving running reports and daily checking of data and updating as necessary.

Requirements

• Currently Registered in Post-Secondary education in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Business Analytics
• Strong Data analysis, data verification, and problem-solving abilities
• Advanced Proficiency in Excel Macros and Pivot Tables
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Excellent listening, presentation, and interpersonal skills
• Able to read macro logic and format input data for successful execution macros to minimize exceptions.
• Be flexible and multi-task, coordinating work effort over numerous projects over daily and project-based tasks.
• Detail Oriented
• Ability to work unsupervised at time and complete with priorities identified.

Responsibilities

• Support some daily functions of customs department involving running reports and daily checking of data and updating as necessary.
• Run and analyze daily release report.
• Monitor the status of inbound and outbound shipments to ensure timely clearance and delivery.
• Support transaction audits using excel with preprogrammed excel macros and manage exceptions.
• Check formatting of input data for precisely accurate format and adjust as necessary including: text to data changes, cleaning, filtering, formatting with advanced excel formulas.
• Coordinate with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and internal departments to resolve clearance delays or documentation discrepancies
