This internship at the Navigation Center offers students a hands-on introduction to the social services field through meaningful, front-line experience. Interns assist with clerical and administrative tasks, help coordinate client transportation, and serve as the first point of contact for individuals accessing services. Throughout the internship, students gain valuable experience working alongside clients facing challenges such as addiction, mental illness, homelessness, and financial hardship. Under close supervision, serves as the primary contact to the public and county employees for inquiries and questions; performs a variety of clerical office, receptionist, and office assistance duties to create, store, retrieve and archive files and records; works closely with department personnel to complete daily tasks; and provides administrative clerical support to the overall operation of the department.
