About The Position

The Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas is hiring a paid, full-time summer intern for its Community, Engagement & Development team, based in the Houston office. The internship is part of a cohort-based program offering meaningful functional work, staff mentorship, exposure to central banking, access to senior leaders and industry experts, and learning and development opportunities. The program typically lasts 10–12 weeks, beginning in mid-to-late May and ending in August. The team connects with outside experts and gathers economic information to help inform the Dallas Fed’s understanding of the 11th District economy. The intern may focus specifically on the banking or energy sectors. The role involves speaking with business and community leaders about economic conditions, monitoring relevant trends, preparing policy-relevant summaries for senior Bank leaders, supporting outreach programs, and using Salesforce CRM to track and improve outreach effectiveness.

Requirements

Undergraduate or graduate coursework focused on economics, business, public policy, or a related field.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
General understanding of economics.
Intellectual curiosity.
Must be eligible to work in the United States; sponsorship is not available.

Responsibilities

Speak with business and community leaders about current economic conditions.
Follow trends in banking, energy, and the broader economy to help identify priority issues for outreach discussions.
Draft summaries and briefs that relay policy-relevant information to senior leaders at the Bank.
Support the planning and execution of outreach meetings and programs.
Use Salesforce CRM to track, analyze, and improve outreach effectiveness.
