About The Position

Alaska Airlines is hiring a Communications Intern for summer 2027. Interns join teams across Alaska Airlines, Hawaiian Airlines, and Horizon Air to work on visible projects that affect guests and the business. The internship offers hands-on experience, networking opportunities with employees and company leaders, and unlimited standby travel benefits. It is a full-time, 12-week internship based in SeaTac, Washington. Candidates who do not already live in the internship city must relocate for the duration of the program. The internship is intended to provide skill development and work experience and does not guarantee future employment.

Requirements

• Be working toward a bachelor’s degree in communications, digital media, public relations, marketing, or a related area.
• Have strong writing and editing skills.
• Be savvy with social media.
• Have research skills.
• Have organizational skills.
• Be currently enrolled in an undergraduate program and have at least one semester or quarter remaining after the internship.
• Have junior or higher academic standing at the time of application.
• Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Be at least 18 years old.
• Be authorized to work in the United States.

Nice To Haves

• Project management experience.
• Content creation experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist in drafting news releases and external stories to promote Alaska’s brand and initiatives.
• Support the communications team in managing media requests, preparing briefing materials, and maintaining media relationships.
• Contribute to the content creator strategy plan, including content planning and creator management.
• Support the communications team onsite at community and company events.
