About The Position

Cooper Nuclear Station (CNS) located near Brownville, Nebraska, offers outstanding opportunities for students pursuing a degree in Engineering. CNS is looking for students who have an interest in working in the field of nuclear power generation. Co-op engineering students are hired for a semester with comprehensive benefits, additional pay for living expenses, and a competitive salary. NOTE: Co-op position is available to undergraduate students only.

Requirements

Must be pursuing an engineering degree from an accredited college/university.
Must be finishing their sophomore year of college at a minimum.
Co-op Engineer will work the 2027 summer/fall session (mid-May through December 2027).
Engineer Intern will work the 2027 summer session (mid-May through approximately the first week of August 2027).

Responsibilities

Learn and apply alternating current/direct current system modeling techniques with EDSA software.
Assist with electrical and/or instrument control logic modifications.
Calculate and track individual Motor Control Center (MCC) electrical loading.
Apply National Electrical Code to new and existing electrical installations.
Gain invaluable experience in a growing electrical utility industry.
Assist with preparing Modifications.
Assist with field support of Modifications.
Prepare Design Change Notices.
Assist with mechanical engineering evaluations.
Perform equipment/component walk downs.
Gain practical experience of working in a nuclear power plant.
Gain invaluable experience in a growing electric utility.
Will be based upon degree and area in which the assignment will be.
Accountable for other duties as assigned.
