About The Position

This position is responsible for performing daily clinical and administrative support duties to facilitate efficient operations in an outpatient clinic setting. This position provides support in providing safe quality care and customer service to patients, physicians/providers and other members of the clinical care teams.

Requirements

  • Current college student with pre-med/pre-PA/Nursing/pre-PT major preferred
  • Experience in a healthcare setting is preferred
  • Able to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Possess good working knowledge of practice management and EHR software, Google products, Microsoft Office and Windows-based computer applications
  • Good verbal and written communication and writing skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills, able to work well and communicate professionally with physicians, patients and staff in all levels in the organization
  • Able to develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with others and maintain them over time

Responsibilities

  • Escorts patients to exam rooms in a timely manner and keeps team members informed of delays
  • Prepares patients for exams and triages as needed (e.g., radiology, cast removal)
  • Assists physicians during examinations and procedures, including support with splint/cast application and removal
  • Serves as a patient liaison to help address questions, concerns, and delays
  • Maintains exam/procedure rooms, instruments, and equipment in accordance with infection control and OSHA standards; restocks and organizes supplies
  • Supports patient care activities, including managing patient flow, assisting with mobility and preparation, collecting history, performing screenings, documenting, and communicating instructions
  • Prepares charts prior to appointments, ensuring required records (e.g., imaging, lab results, authorizations) are complete
  • Monitors and reports low supply levels; ensures rooms are clean, stocked, and organized at the end of clinic
  • Communicates effectively with patients and families, responding to inquiries and providing updates as needed
  • Maintains a professional appearance and participates in required training and system updates
  • Fulfills organizational responsibilities, including promoting patient rights, responding to emergencies, and escalating concerns to supervisors
