About The Position

We are seeking a highly motivated graduate student intern to support Intismeran autogene Alliance Management and Business Strategy and Operations in driving strategic planning workstreams and operational excellence for Moderna’s key strategic partnership with Merck. This role provides hands-on exposure to collaboration with cross-functional leaders, governance support, portfolio analytics, strategic planning (market sizing, landscape analyses), executive communications, and operations. Learning Objectives By the end of the internship, the intern will: Directly contribute to the build of the Intismeran autogene business. Gain practical exposure to strategic alliance governance in a complex organization. Develop skills in partnership performance management and operational rigor. Build experience in executive communications and stakeholder engagement. Understand how strong internal visibility and storytelling reinforce alliance success. Experience the intersection of strategy, science, finance, communication, and execution in partnerships.

Requirements

  • Completed bachelor’s degree and currently pursuing a master’s degree in a related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling executive-level messaging.
  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to utilize large language models (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini) to drive efficiency in execution.
  • Ability to synthesize complex information into clear, concise insights and data-driven recommendations.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Candidates must already hold work authorization in US and be able to maintain that status without the need for future sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • Background in life sciences, healthcare, biotech, or pharmaceuticals.
  • 2+ years in consulting, corporate development, venture capital, or similar.
  • Exposure to partnership, alliance management, or cross-functional program management.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing materials for Joint Steering Committees (JSCs) and other governance meetings.
  • Support tracking of alliance milestones, deliverables, risks, and key decisions.
  • Maintain alliance dashboards and scorecards.
  • Help coordinate governance calendars and action item follow-up.
  • Support development of executive-ready summary reports.
  • Support management of a recurring Alliance Management newsletter and/or email communications.
  • Help standardize templates, trackers, and governance documentation.
  • Assist in mapping stakeholders and communication flows.
  • Support commercial opportunity assessments for existing and prospective TPPs.
  • Conduct analyses of historical data to guide strategic and operational design choices, and present data-driven recommendations to cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Develop dashboards to track performance (actuals vs. KPIs, progress against plan), risks, and key decisions.
  • Provide project management support for high impact strategic planning and operations workstreams.
