About The Position

Alaska Airlines, Hawaiian Airlines, and Horizon Air offer interns hands-on experience on visible projects that affect guests and the business. Interns can network with employees and company leaders through events and programming, and receive unlimited standby travel benefits during the internship. This internship is for summer 2027, lasts 12 weeks, and is full-time. Two program timelines are offered to align with different academic calendars. The position is located in Anchorage, Alaska; candidates who do not already live in the internship city must relocate for the duration of the internship.

The internship is intended to provide skill development and valuable work experience. It does not guarantee that a relevant role or future employment will be available at Alaska Airlines when the internship ends. The starting rate is $25.00 per hour. The role is temporary and non-exempt.

Requirements

• Be working toward a bachelor’s degree in Business, Statistics, Professional Aviation, or a related field.
• Be currently enrolled in an undergraduate program and have at least one semester or quarter remaining after the internship.
• Have junior or higher academic standing at the time of application.
• Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Be at least 18 years old.
• Be authorized to work in the United States.
• Demonstrate critical thinking to analyze trends and compile innovative solutions.
• Be able to communicate successfully with a workgroup and other internal departments and teams.
• Have high regard for safety.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of Tableau or another data analysis platform.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and interpret data affecting operational performance, including baggage, safety, compliance, timeline metrics, and on-time performance.
• Conduct root cause analysis to identify trends affecting station operations.
• Assist with executing operational plans that support station goals and company objectives.
• Work with multiple stakeholders to implement improvement processes.
• Support station leadership in employee engagement objectives.
