About The Position
Ovintiv’s program is a comprehensive summer internship designed to provide a solid foundation of knowledge and experiential training, while giving students the opportunity to apply what they are learning in school in a real-world setting. As a student, you will spend the summer working closely with an experienced mentor and be assigned a project and various other responsibilities intended to provide you with learning opportunities while delivering meaningful contributions to Ovintiv. Ovintiv is dedicated to ensuring the safety and health of our workforce and the communities in which we operate, and we are committed to environmental responsibility in all of our endeavors. Students on our Air Quality Team will have a role in helping to ensure that we meet these critical commitments, while learning at the same time. To ensure students are given relevant, value-add and meaningful assignments, we do not create specific work projects until a successful candidate is chosen.
Requirements
- Must be pursuing a Bachelor's degree in environmental engineering, environmental science, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, civil engineering, or a closely related field.
- Must be enrolled as a full-time student through December 2027.
- Must be available May 17 – August 5, 2027.
- Reside or willing to reside in Denver, CO.
- Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
Responsibilities
- Working on compliance data analysis
- Calculating and tracking emissions
- Regulatory reporting
- Helping to drive meaningful emissions reductions
- Relaying best practices
- Encouraging innovation and new technology
- Leak detection and repair (LDAR) – includes detection, repair, documentation, data analysis and directed maintenance
- Collaborate with operations and our data and analytics teams to ensure GHG emissions are calculated appropriately in our emissions management system.
