About The Position

We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Adult Day Program Intern to join our team for the summer. This internship offers hands-on experience supporting adults in a community-based Adult Day setting, with a focus on engagement, dignity, and person-centered care. The intern will work alongside program staff to support daily activities, promote socialization, and assist with program operations, gaining valuable exposure to human services, healthcare coordination, and community programming.

Requirements

Enrolled in a College program with a goal of receiving an Associate, Bachelor, or Master degree in a human services related field and have approval from his or her program director
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Background check required
Must be able to attend 8-hour agency Dementia training

Responsibilities

Observe daily programming by adult day staff, within the hours of 9 am – 3pm.
Observe/participate in at least one development/update and implementation of participant’s person-centered care plan.
Assist with procedures and daily activities as directed by the Adult Day Program Director or assigned Adult Day Program designee.
Assist with documentation as directed.
Attend staff meetings, case conferences, education sessions, and family meetings, as scheduled or indicated by supervisor.
Integrate procedures and techniques learned in their college programs while working under the direct supervision of an Adult Day Program Supervisor or designee.
Maintain appropriate appearance, attitude and conduct.
Maintain participant confidentiality and treat all participants with respect and dignity at all times.
Meet weekly with the Program Director or designee to review progress and goals for Internship.
